Compare formats before price levels

The Hyper Bee and Light Bee X may sit next to each other in a store, but start with rider fit and vehicle limits. We use British MY26 specifications, including the Hyper Bee with 14/12-inch wheels. Other generations and configurations exist.

The Hyper Bee lists 39 kg and a 55 kg rated load. The Light Bee X lists 59 kg and a 100 kg carrying capacity. These are selection limits to respect, not suggestions to adjust to your preference. Account for the equipped rider according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Riding position changes the comparison

The Hyper Bee seat is listed at 665–705 mm; the Light Bee X at 830 mm. A fit check should assess reach to controls, support, and freedom to move. A low seat does not automatically make a motorcycle easy for every rider.

For a young rider, include suitable supervision, venue rules, and applicable requirements. Maximum power is not an age-selection method. Modes and electronic aids do not replace instruction or a competent adult’s attention.

Battery energy belongs in context

Listed batteries are 58 V 22 Ah for the Hyper Bee and 72 V 35 Ah for the Light Bee X. Intended use, size, and weight differ, so comparing advertising distances alone will not produce a fair ranking.

The MY26 Hyper Bee lists 8 kW, versus 10 kW for the Light Bee X. Relatively close outputs do not make the chassis interchangeable. Available room, wheel size, and load limit remain priorities.

Build an appropriate shortlist

Select the category that fits the rider before checking version, configuration, and support. A correctly sized Hyper Bee serves a different purpose from a Light Bee chosen for another rider. Our photographs illustrate model families, not verified model years.

The question is not which smallest Sur-Ron can move the rider, but which motorcycle’s ergonomics and limits suit them consistently. If there is insufficient adjustment range, reconsider the bike rather than relying on improvised changes.

Young riders in France

Check age and riding requirements before choosing a size. For non-approved vehicles covered by Service-Public’s guidance, riders aged 14 or younger must participate in activities organized by an approved sports association.
